    I am a dork (and proud of it) for many reasons – but nothing defines my dorkdom more than the level of appreciation I have when technology meets things that anti technology.  For example, have you seen

    God’s facebook page?  What, you didn’t think that he had one?  Well certainly you can’t be too surprised, everyone has a facebook page, it’s 2010 – get with it!  Fake facebook pages are beyond funny to me, because not only are the over the top ridiculous  but they are usually really smart, multi-layered and well thought out.  God’s profile (created by College Humor) is a perfect example of this – posting status updates about being bored cause there is no one to im with, creating Earth as a new group, Adam is his first friend (Adam and Eve being in a relationship shows up on his wall) – you get the jist.  They basically turned the story of Genesis into the funniest facebook feed you would ever want to see.  Also not to be missed are Obama’s first 100 days, Satan’s page, The Facebook Group of World Leaders, Dr Manhattan, Jesus’ Page, The Revolutionary War, and The Civil War.  Enjoy the laughter and welcome to 2010.

    SCARE TACTICS: Satin's Baby

    Candid Camera, created by Allen Funt, which initially began on radio as Candid Microphone began in 1947.  The premise always involves concealed cameras filming unsuspecting people confronted with unusual stations, and no one can appreciate that kind of entertainment more than a viewer watching from the comfort of their own couch.  With humor putting people in fabricated situation, the show was the precursor to the more recent wave of prank shows, such as Punk’d, Boiling Point, and The Jamie Kennedy Experiment (to name a few).  Scare Tactics, currently on the Syfy network brings the practical joke show to a whole new level, by sprinkling it with pure EVIL.  The Satin’s baby prank is CRAZY, and all I have to say is that this girl has a cruel mother (Oh, and if I were her, I would be scarred for life).  It is funny though, so if you dare – enjoy the clip.

    I love Google so much, that sometimes when people say they use aol or yahoo I actually judge them.  I can’t remember a time when I didn’t have Google in my life.  In fact, do you think naming your child Google would be weird?  It’s not even that crazy a name in this day and age, I bet right now there is totally a kid who answers to the name Google.  ’Google, I told you had to finish up your homework before you went onto JokeyPhone – jeesh, kids these days!’  Sorry, I digress…But really, I love Google because it makes my life more efficient.  It’s organized, resourceful, and even helps with my searches by offering suggestions as I type.  For example, when I enter, ‘Why did the’ into Google, a pull down menu suggests: chicken cross the road, japanese attack pearl harbor, holocaust happen (apparently the list goes for fun to depressing – yikes).

    Mobi jokes is a FAB website that acts out jokes, instead of just telling them, and the result is pretty interesting.  It seems that they are on the newer side (they only have eight jokes posted) but it’s still worth it to check them out, it’s really creative outside of the box thinking.

    Old Jews Telling Jokes

    ‘Old jews telling Jokes‘ is a great site. Please check it out. They are on a simliar mission as we are. They are working their way in with older people as we are trying to introduce the joke to a younger crowd.  The main bond that both sites have, I feel, is that we just want to make people laugh while we bring the joke into the new century already.

    Like we find with

    Jokeyphone kids and Jokeyphone a lot of what you see on Old Jews telling jokes is not that the jokes are always that funny but that the performances can usually take it over the top and get a laugh. I like this Nookie Green joke more for the way the joke teller tells it and reacts to his own punchline than anything.

    I stumbled onto ‘Eli’s Dirty Jokes’ on YouTube, and I think its genius. Word on the street is that jokes used to be popular back in the day. How long ago was that? Honestly, I wouldn’t know: I wasn’t born when jokes where popular (that’s how long its been). Nowadays, it is clear that jokes are seemingly out of fashion. So what do you do to bring the ‘joke’ back? You create JOKEYPHONE.COM (kudos to Mike Binder). And yes, that is my shameless attempt at plugging our site. Another way to bring jokes back, is to create ‘Eli’s Dirty Jokes.’ It is an animated-adult themed joke series. The joke is told by an old guy, and the scenes are acted out by other animated characters. It’s a very funny one to check out. They air on Cinemax and on YouTube. Check out a few below.

    This is from a Youttube comedianne named Deena Marie Manzanares. She’s funny. (Pushes a little hard for me but she’s young and talented and if you look through her stuff it’s pretty obvious she’s a hard worker with a lot of raw talent and tenacity.) This is a good version of an old joke she’s filmed. It’s not awesome, but it’s worth a look. Youtube posted her to the front page a few times so someone thinks she’s got something….
